Until your child is reading independently, without needing your help, the best "homework" you can assist your child with is reading together. This can include the books teachers send home, the books selected at our fabulous school library, or anything at home that both you and your child enjoy.
Aside from academic performance and the literacy development necessary to succeed as an adult, this reading with you will be a special time for your child as they reflect on their childhood in later years. In fact, it was one of my favorite activities to do with my dad!
